Is on next Wednesday August 6 2008 for year 5 and 6 pupils. We will have 2 soccer teams playing at Morgan Park, 2 netball teams at the Kenny Street Netball Courts and 1 rugby team at the Waihi Rugby grounds. Some of our rugby players will join an ‘All Stars’ combination to allow the smaller schools to submit a rugby team. Postponement day is Friday 8 August.

The School Goal for this week, is coming into class promptly after the bell has gone.
Next week, all Waihi East teaching staff are attending the Habits of Mind 4 day Workshop in Hamilton. This will extend teacher knowledge of thinking tools and make us more aware of creative classroom lessons. Relievers will be working Wednesday to Friday, with the course finishing lunch time Saturday. Our Acting Principal will be Mr Bill Burton. Relievers are as follows:

The next visit to Waihi for the Free Ear Caravan is this Thursday 31st July from 10.00 to 2.00pm [closed for lunch 12.30 to 2.30pm] at Central School.
Our children look fantastic in uniform. Thank you for your support. We currently have $583 outstanding in uniform accounts. We would appreciate partial payments or payment in full to settle these accounts. Accounts are being sent home today with newsletter.
A reminder that both these activities are on Tuesday 5th August. We would like full participation from students.

School lunches start this Thursday on a trial basis. Depending on orders received, this will continue every Thursday throughout the year. Please check out the order form.
If your child is ordering:
• Place order and correct money in an envelope.
• Name and Room No. on outside of envelope.
• Place order in the lunchbox on Thursday mornings.
Orders are picked up from school at 9.00am SHARP.

Congratulations to Lynette Steele who has been appointed Assistant Principal at Waihi East School. Lynette has made significant impact to the leadership team at Waihi East School and we look forward to her further contributions. Lynette joins the management team of Isobel Huggard our newly appointed Deputy principal [teaching in room 2 Year 5&6] and Emily. The teaching team at Waihi East look forward to an exciting future under this leadership team.
